EDINBURGH and LONDON, United Kingdom, Oct. 06, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Resolution Therapeutics is set to present interim data from its Phase I/II EMERALD study for RTX001, its engineered Regenerative Macrophage Therapy, as a late-breaking presentation at the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD), The Liver Meeting® 2026, which will take place in Denver, Colorado from November 5 to 9, 2026.
The EMERALD study, a multi-center, single-arm, first-in-human, open-label trial, evaluates the safety, tolerability, and preliminary efficacy of RTX001 in patients with end-stage liver disease who have recovered from a recent hepatic decompensation. The study is being conducted at leading hepatology centers across the UK and Spain.
Dr. Lara Campana, Senior Vice President and Head of Research and Translational Science at Resolution Therapeutics, will present preclinical data on the suitability of intravenous administration of Regenerative Macrophage Therapy for the treatment of decompensated cirrhosis. The presentation will cover the biodistribution, tolerability, and organ-specific persistence of RTX001 and non-engineered RMT. This session is scheduled for Saturday, November 7, 2026, from 8:30 to 8:45 MST in the Bluebird Ballroom 1B.
Resolution Therapeutics, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on pioneering Regenerative Macrophage Therapy in inflammatory and fibrotic diseases, is advancing its efforts to expand the potential of its platform into inflammatory and fibrotic indications beyond liver disease, including lung fibrosis. The company’s initial focus is on developing RTX001, its lead product with first-in-class potential, to treat patients with end-stage liver disease.
The EMERALD/OPAL Trials, with a publication number of 5034, will be presented in the Late Breaking Posters session, which runs from November 5 to 9, 2026. The presentation is scheduled for Sunday, November 8, 2026, from 1:00 to 2:00 PM MST.
According to the company, the end-stage liver disease (ESLD) patient population in the U.S. is currently more than 500,000 and is expected to grow to 600,000 by 2040. Patients face high mortality rates and limited transplant-free survival. Following a patient’s first decompensation, the disease progresses rapidly, with a 37% risk of death and a 5% risk of liver transplant within two years. Median survival drops from two years after the first decompensation to nine months after the second decompensation event.
The company is also advancing its efforts to expand the potential of its platform into inflammatory and fibrotic indications beyond liver disease, including lung fibrosis. Resolution Therapeutics is based in Edinburgh and London and is focused on pioneering Regenerative Macrophage Therapy in inflammatory and fibrotic diseases.
