Rently Unveils Z-Wave Long Range Smart Home Lineup

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 22, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Rently, a resident lifecycle management platform for single-family and multifamily operators, has introduced a new line of Z-Wave Long Range smart home products designed to simplify and reduce costs associated with smart home deployment in multifamily properties. The lineup, unveiled at Rently Summit 2026, held from September 14 to 16 in Santa Monica, California, includes the Rently Hub 4 Long Range, the Rently Smart Bolt Armor MDL, and the Rently Long Range Thermostat.
The new products are aimed at addressing three key challenges in multifamily smart home deployment: per-unit hardware costs, multifamily lock requirements, and network reliability across large buildings.
The Rently Hub 4 Long Range, a gateway certified for Z-Wave Long Range, is designed to connect and manage smart home devices across an entire floor from a single install point. It supports up to 25 units per hub, estimated to reduce upfront capital expenditures by approximately 30%. The hub also features cellular connectivity with Wi-Fi fallback and battery backup, ensuring reliable operation even in areas with poor Wi-Fi coverage. Importantly, the Rently Hub 4 Long Range is backward compatible with non-Long Range standard Z-Wave devices, allowing for a smooth transition for existing installations.
The Rently Smart Bolt Armor MDL is a clutch-based smart deadbolt designed for multifamily properties and retrofit installations. This device accommodates warped door frames common in older buildings, where motor-driven deadbolts often fail to fully extend. The smart deadbolt is ADA-compliant, with a UL fire rating of up to three hours and an estimated two-year battery life. It supports code, fob, Bluetooth, and Rently app entry, with native integration into Rently’s Self-Guided Touring platform and support for leading property management systems.
The Rently Long Range Thermostat is a connected thermostat that provides property teams with remote control over temperatures in vacant units, helping prevent frozen pipes and reduce cooling costs. Residents can also control their home’s comfort and energy use through the thermostat. Proactive HVAC alerts can help identify potential maintenance issues earlier, ensuring that the system operates efficiently.
Rently marks its 15th anniversary as it introduces these new products. The company’s development since 2011 and its roadmap for the future were highlighted at Rently Summit 2026, which featured a “Crystal Anniversary” theme centered on strength, transparency, and clarity. The summit looked back at the company’s journey and ahead to its plans for the next 15 years.
