Ramp, a corporate finance platform, has officially launched in the UK, marking its first major move outside North America. The company, which already serves over 70,000 businesses including Shopify and Virgin Voyages, now offers its services to UK-based companies through a local payments infrastructure and a growing London team.
Ramp's expansion into the UK comes after the company acquired Billhop, a payments platform based in Stockholm and London, in March 2026. This acquisition provided Ramp with regulatory payments authorisation in both the UK and the European Union. Ramp now has offices in London and Stockholm, with European customers already using the platform following a beta phase.
Jacob Wallenberg, vice president of international expansion at Ramp, expressed excitement about the launch.
UK companies have been onboarding since the summer. ElevenLabs, an AI voice agents platform, is among those using Ramp's platform. The company runs bill pay, corporate cards, and AI token spend management on Ramp. Automation codes 99% of invoices and 99.8% of card transactions, saving a three-person finance team approximately 24 hours a month.
Roberto Restrepo, head of finance at Attio, a London-based company, highlighted the benefits of using Ramp. "Ramp has completely changed how I spend my time. Instead of managing finance tools, I can focus on driving the business forward."
Ramp is working with Visa to support its corporate card offering for UK businesses, combining Ramp's spend management platform with Visa's global payments network. Lucy Demery, senior vice president of Visa Commercial Solutions in Europe, said, "The UK is one of the world's most dynamic markets for business payments and fintech innovation, making it an exciting next step for Ramp's international growth. At Visa, we're proud to partner with Ramp to transform B2B payments at scale. Together, we're helping UK businesses access smarter financial solutions, to unlock new growth in the digital economy."
Ramp's entry into the UK coincides with a shift in what finance teams are being asked to control. AI spending has grown roughly 21 times across Ramp customers since June 2025, with the heaviest AI spenders seeing costs climb 50% or more roughly every quarter. Token spend behaves differently from any line item that came before it, being usage-based, swinging day to day, and scattered across providers, models, teams, projects, and API keys, making it difficult for finance to see what's actually happening.
Wallenberg explained, "The issue is not that companies are spending too much on AI. It's that they're spending blindly." Ramp's token spend intelligence tools break costs down by model and team, separate cost of goods sold from operating expenditure, and flag anomalies and savings opportunities automatically.
Ramp's increasing momentum includes a series of product announcements in the past quarter. The company launched Ramp Stack, an AI operating system for accountants and accounting firms, and introduced stablecoin payments, allowing businesses to send and receive USDC and USDT anywhere in the world. Ramp also launched token spend management, providing visibility and control over AI costs, and introduced Router, a tool that reduces inference costs by matching every request to the lowest-cost model for the job.
In June, Ramp raised $750 million at a $44 billion valuation and launched its services in Canada in July. The company now serves over 70,000 organizations, from family farms and space startups to Fortune 100 companies, saving over $12 billion and 27 million hours with Ramp. The median customer saves 5% on expenses and grows revenue 16% in their first year on the platform.
Ramp's UK launch is part of its broader strategy to serve the growing number of businesses in Europe and beyond. The company's focus on AI and token spend management positions it well to meet the evolving needs of finance teams in the digital age.
