Radius Gold Reports Geochemical Results Supporting Porphyry Copper System at Tierra Roja

Radius Gold Inc. announced on September 9, 2026, that its recent geochemical analysis of rock samples from the Tierra Roja copper project in southern Peru supports the potential for a porphyry copper system within the area. The results from the approximately 600 meters by 800 meters core zone reveal significant metal associations, enhancing the company’s geological model and providing a clearer picture of the deposit’s potential.

The analysis, conducted using multi-element ICP data, showed a positive correlation between copper and silver, gold, potassium, and molybdenum. Notably, the presence of elevated potassium (up to 2% K) in both rocks and soils is indicative of potassic alteration in the Jurassic andesite volcanics, a key characteristic of porphyry copper systems. Molybdenum values in rocks, ranging from 5 to 10 ppm, were higher than those in the surrounding soils, further supporting residual primary signatures in the core.

Soil sampling, covering a broader area, revealed an inverse relationship between copper and zinc, with lead and zinc being depleted over the high-copper core zone and elevated on the periphery. This zonation is a classic feature of porphyry copper systems, where copper is concentrated towards the center and base metals are displaced outward. The company noted that the copper versus potassium relationship in the soils also showed elevated potassium values, consistent with the potassic alteration observed in the core zone.

Luke Longridge, PhD, P.Geo, the company’s President, commented, "The multi-element results from the core of Tierra Roja show the metal associations and zonation of a porphyry copper system, and are consistent with the geological features I have seen on the ground, including potassic alteration, porphyry dykes, and widespread copper oxides."

The Tierra Roja project is currently subject to permitting processes. Radius Gold Inc. holds provisional surface rights and is working to obtain the necessary exploration authorization from the Gerencia Regional de Energía y Minas (GREM) of Arequipa. The company plans to conduct a larger, property-wide geochemical survey in September to map metal zonation and identify vectors toward higher copper or molybdenum grades. This survey will be integrated with existing hyperspectral and geophysical datasets.

Longridge added, "Although it has been frustrating that surface-rights permission on state land has taken longer than anticipated, the resolution of the initial SBN authorization means we can get on with the property-wide sampling program and we are optimistic that the remaining valuation and definitive contract can be completed in a reasonable timeframe. Obtaining the GREM authorization and progressing on the path to drilling the target at Tierra Roja is our primary near-term focus."
