Qnovo Launches Battery Genome Application for Enhanced EV Battery Management

MILPITAS, Calif., Sept. 24, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Qnovo, a leader in battery intelligence software, has unveiled a new application that aims to provide automakers with a clearer understanding of the condition and value of electric vehicle (EV) batteries. This development comes as the European Union (EU) is set to introduce a digital battery passport requirement for all EV batteries placed on the market starting February 18, 2027.
The new software, built on the Qnovo Battery Genome, addresses the limitations of current data, which are insufficient to detect hidden defects or signs of accelerated aging at the cell level.
The application works by analyzing the battery's full electrochemical record, including charging behavior, operating history, environmental exposure, and cell-level variation. By identifying markers of accelerated aging and hidden defects, the software projects how the battery is likely to age. This provides a clearer, risk-adjusted view of the battery's health and value, which is crucial for automakers as they prepare to meet the EU's new requirements.
The software is being offered to OEMs, fleet operators, and insurers as part of Qnovo's existing stack of software solutions, including Adaptive Fast Charging and Health and Safety Diagnostics. Qnovo has already demonstrated the application at The Battery Show North America in Detroit from October 13-15, 2026.
Qnovo's software leverages sophisticated battery models enhanced with AI and machine learning, delivering real-time insights into battery performance and operation with 98.7% accuracy in detecting potential safety issues.
