Pye-Barker Fire & Safety, the largest fully integrated and full-service fire protection, life safety, and security services provider in the United States, has been named a Great Place to Work® for the second consecutive year. According to the company, 82% of its employees reported that Pye-Barker is a great place to work, significantly higher than the 57% average at typical U.S. companies.
Rebecca True, chief human resources officer at Pye-Barker Fire & Safety, emphasized the company’s commitment to creating a positive work environment.
The certification process involved surveying a sample of Pye-Barker team members and evaluating more than 60 elements of their on-the-job experience. Highlights from the feedback included:
- 95% of employees reported that Pye-Barker is a physically safe place to work. - 94% said people are treated fairly regardless of their race. - 94% said people are treated fairly regardless of their sexual orientation. - 92% said they are able to take time off from work when they think it's necessary. - 90% said people are treated fairly regardless of their gender.
Caring for its people is foundational to Pye-Barker. The company has made intentional investments to support its employees, including role-specific skills training, leadership development, and the ALL In employee ownership plan. Launched in 2025, the ALL In award is a future bonus tied to the company's growth, making Pye-Barker the largest company in the fire and life safety industry powered by employee ownership.
Pye-Barker also established the Pye-Barker Safety Net Fund to provide financial assistance to team members facing unexpected hardships or recovering from natural disasters. This year, the fund has supported more than 80 team members dealing with illness, winter storms, and other times of crisis.
Beyond its own workforce, Pye-Barker's commitment extends to supporting its communities and fellow protectors. The company partnered with the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation to sponsor a Staff Ride in Charleston, South Carolina. Additionally, Pye-Barker teamed up with seven-time NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson on the Helmet of Heroes tribute at the DAYTONA 500, honoring America's fallen firefighters and raising funds for firefighter families and advancing firefighter safety.
