ProStar Plumbing Expands Services for Poly B Pipe Replacement in Calgary

CALGARY, AB, Oct. 4, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- ProStar Plumbing & Heating, a family-owned plumbing and HVAC service provider established in 1996, has expanded its services to address the growing concerns of Calgary homeowners regarding the aging polybutylene (Poly B) plumbing systems in their homes. The company now offers a comprehensive, end-to-end poly B pipe replacement service, ensuring that homeowners can safeguard their properties from potential plumbing failures.

Polybutylene, widely used in Calgary residential construction due to its flexibility and lower initial cost, has become a significant concern for property owners. Over time, exposure to pressure, heat, and municipal water treatment additives causes the grey plastic piping and acetal fittings to degrade, leading to sudden wall leaks, structural water damage, and toxic mold growth. As a result, several major Canadian home insurance providers now mandate complete poly B pipe replacement as a condition for policy coverage or renewal.

Recognizing the need to streamline the process for homeowners, ProStar Plumbing & Heating has introduced a dedicated team to manage the entire repiping workflow. The service includes a diagnostic inspection and permit management, complete removal of compromised Poly B piping, and the precision installation of modern, code-compliant PEX or copper supply lines. Additionally, the company offers professional drywall and paint restoration to restore walls and ceilings to their original condition. The final step involves comprehensive final inspections and documented compliance paperwork for insurance verification.

Brian Mcdermott, the founder of ProStar Plumbing & Heating, emphasized the company's commitment to providing a seamless, turn-key experience.
