PosturePass Now Available in Microsoft Marketplace for Secure Device Verification

Ensure Endpoint Technologies, a company that develops PosturePass, a device-trust application, has announced that its PosturePass by Ensure Endpoint is now available in Microsoft Marketplace. This development allows Microsoft customers to use PosturePass to verify the security of contractor and bring-your-own-device (BYOD) devices through their existing Microsoft Entra ID Conditional Access policies.

Organizations in regulated industries, such as insurance and financial services, are increasingly responsible for managing the risks associated with third-party technology and access. Regulations such as the Digital Operational Resilience Act and NYDFS 23 NYCRR 500 have heightened the focus on third-party technology and access risk.

These devices often present a challenge for organizations, as they are typically not owned by the organization and may be personal devices or already managed by another company. Enrolling them in a corporate device-management platform may therefore not be practical.

Many enterprises have addressed this gap by implementing virtual desktop infrastructure, which isolates the device from corporate applications and data. However, this approach introduces another environment that must be operated and supported.

PosturePass, developed by Ensure Endpoint Technologies, takes a different approach. Contractors install a lightweight application on their own devices. No device-management enrollment, administrator rights, or IT tickets are required. PosturePass checks whether the device meets the organization's requirements for disk encryption, antivirus protection, firewall status, operating system patches, remote access software, and password policy. When a check fails, the user can see what needs to be corrected and how to address it.

Once the device passes, PosturePass writes a compliance signal to Microsoft Entra ID. The organization's existing Conditional Access policies can then use that signal when deciding whether to grant access. Devices are checked continuously, and PosturePass does not manage, lock, or take administrative control of the device.

PosturePass is already in use across thousands of contractor and third-party devices at regulated enterprises in insurance and financial services. Across deployments, roughly one-quarter of devices fail at least one security check during the initial rollout. Most are brought into compliance by their owners without the need for help-desk involvement.

The availability of PosturePass in Microsoft Marketplace puts this solution within reach of every organization already running on Microsoft.

Microsoft Marketplace is a single destination to find, try, and buy trusted cloud solutions, AI apps, and agents to meet your business objectives.

PosturePass supplies the result to Microsoft Entra ID so customers can enforce access through their existing Conditional Access policies. Ensure Endpoint Technologies was founded by members of the team behind PointSec Mobile Technologies, the endpoint-encryption company acquired by Check Point Software. The company serves regulated enterprises in insurance, financial services, and other industries.
