OAK BROOK, Ill., Sept. 18, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Portillo’s, the fast-casual restaurant concept known for its Chicago-style street food, is set to expand its footprint in Georgia with the opening of a new location in Buford in 2027. This marks the second Portillo’s establishment in the state, following the November 2025 opening of its Kennesaw restaurant.
The new Portillo’s in Buford will be situated at the intersection of Buford Highway (Highway 20) and Mall of Georgia Boulevard. Spanning approximately 4,900 square feet, the restaurant will offer seating for nearly 100 guests indoors, complemented by an additional 20 seats on an outdoor patio. The design of the new location will include the brand’s signature double drive-thru lanes, Portillo’s Pick-Up shelves, and a Grab and Go area, ensuring convenience for all guests.
Brett Patterson, President and CEO of Portillo’s, expressed excitement about the expansion, stating, “We’ve felt an incredible welcome from Georgia guests since first opening in Kennesaw last year, and we’re excited to bring even more of what makes Portillo’s special to Buford.
