Luxe Digital, a leading publication in the luxury industry, has released the September edition of its Luxury AI Visibility Index, a monthly ranking of luxury brands based on their prominence in artificial intelligence (AI) searches. According to the index, Porsche is the most visible luxury brand in AI searches, followed closely by Dior and Louis Vuitton.

The index evaluates more than 300 luxury brands across over 6 million AI mentions from five leading AI engines: ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, and Gemini. Porsche leads the ranking with 74,515 mentions, outperforming every fashion house, jeweler, and watchmaker. Dior and Louis Vuitton follow with 66,030 and 50,083 mentions, respectively, giving LVMH two of the top three positions.

The automotive sector's strength is evident, with six of the top 10 most visible luxury brands being automotive: Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Tesla, Volvo, and BMW. This finding highlights the growing importance of AI in consumer research, particularly among affluent individuals who are increasingly relying on AI assistants for their luxury purchases.

Interestingly, a digital-first jeweler, Brilliant Earth, ranks sixth in the September index, ahead of established luxury brands like Chanel and Cartier. Rolex, a well-known watchmaker, ranks 11th, just outside the top 10. This suggests that traditional luxury brands may need to adapt to the changing landscape of AI-driven consumer behavior.

The index also reveals that ranking first on Google does not guarantee visibility in AI searches. For instance, Gucci, which has been the most-searched luxury brand online for years, ranks 12th, ahead of Hermès (15th), Versace (17th), Burberry (18th), and Prada (19th). This underscores the importance of being visible in AI-generated content for luxury brands.

Visibility in AI searches is highly concentrated, with the top 20 brands capturing 55.4% of all AI attention. This leaves hundreds of luxury brands to compete for the remaining attention. Florine Eppe Beauloye, Editor in Chief of Luxe Digital, commented, "AI assistants are becoming the first stop for affluent consumers researching luxury. Being absent in AI conversations can mean being left out of the conversation altogether."

The complete ranking is available for free and unrestricted access at Luxe Digital's website. The publication will continue to release new editions on the 15th of every month, providing ongoing insights into the changing landscape of luxury brand visibility in AI searches.
