DALLAS, Sept. 30, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Pollo Campero, the Guatemalan-born fast-casual restaurant, has donated $25,000 to Direct Relief following its national fundraising day on Tuesday, Aug. 25, to support ongoing earthquake recovery efforts in Venezuela and Colombia.

The fundraiser, which took place across participating Pollo Campero locations in the United States, saw guests contribute to the cause by donating 25 percent of their sales when they mentioned the fundraiser at checkout. This contribution reflects the brand's commitment to supporting communities in times of crisis, particularly those in Latin America.

According to Karla Patino, the vice president of marketing and sales at Pollo Campero, the donation is a testament to the strong connection the company has with the U.S. Hispanic community.

Direct Relief, a global humanitarian medical organization, will direct the funds toward its earthquake response and recovery work. This includes supporting healthcare providers in Venezuela and Colombia, where the June 24 earthquakes damaged hospitals and disrupted health services, and the Aug. 10 earthquake in Colombia created urgent needs of its own. As of August 2026, Direct Relief had provided more than 11 tons of medical aid and $400,000 in emergency grant funding to healthcare providers across Venezuela. In Colombia, the organization is funding locally led medical response in the Chocó and Eje Cafetero regions, including mobile medical teams treating injuries and chronic conditions and air transport that delivers medical personnel, blood, medicines, and supplies to communities cut off by damaged roads.

Pollo Campero's commitment to social impact extends beyond this particular donation. The company has partnered with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital since 2018, supporting its lifesaving mission for nearly a decade. Additionally, the Campero Institute has provided educational opportunities to employees for 30 years, while the Gran Rifa Únete a AYUVI has supported children with cancer for more than two decades.

Since its 1971 founding in Guatemala, Pollo Campero has grown from a local favorite into a global powerhouse, serving over 80 million customers annually with its signature flavor and excellent service. Today, the brand operates more than 350 restaurants across the United States, Guatemala, El Salvador, Mexico, Honduras, and Ecuador, with more than 150 in the United States.
