Plastic surgery demand rises but initial consultations lag

Plastic surgery demand is on the rise, but the consultation process is lagging behind, according to a new platform that aims to streamline patient engagement. PREEVŪ Plastic, a company that has developed a digital solution to improve the initial stages of the consultation, is addressing a gap in the industry.
The American Society of Plastic Surgeons reported a 7% increase in cosmetic surgical procedures in 2025, with breast augmentation procedures up by 11%. Liposuction remains one of the most common procedures in the U.S. Additionally, 82% of ASPS member surgeons noted an uptick in consultation requests related to GLP-1 weight loss, indicating a shift in the profile of the modern aesthetic patient.
Despite the growing demand, the initial consultation process often lacks the depth needed to ensure informed and appropriate procedures. Patients may spend weeks researching surgeons, reading reviews, and exploring before-and-after galleries before submitting a form that provides minimal details about their needs. This form then requires the practice to fill in the gaps, which can be time-consuming and resource-intensive.
PREEVŪ Plastic was created to streamline this process. The platform allows prospective patients to explore over 45 cosmetic procedures using their own photographs. This visualization tool enables patients to see potential changes to their own face or body, rather than relying on generic images. Depending on the procedure, patients can compare variables such as implant volume, projection profile, injectable volume, or millimeters of facial refinement.
More importantly, the platform captures a detailed patient profile before any significant clinical time is spent. Patients who have spent time comparing different options, completing qualification questions, and providing medical and procedure history are seen as more prepared and informed. This approach contrasts with those who simply click through an advertisement and enter a phone number.
A 2026 study of aesthetic surgery patients found that 70.7% would recommend a clinic offering 3D simulation, with higher percentages for breast augmentation (85%) and rhinoplasty (75%). Simulation was also found to improve patient engagement and expectation management, particularly in procedures where visual outcomes are crucial.
However, consultation time is limited, with 62.5% of patients valuing precise explanations but wanting the ideal consultation to last only 15 to 30 minutes. PREEVŪ's premise is that much of the initial discovery can happen earlier, reducing the burden on surgeons and coordinators.
The platform includes a Medical Passport, which tracks relevant medical and procedure history, and qualification questionnaires. Each interaction can be integrated into the practice’s CRM and scheduling systems, providing a clearer path from initial engagement to booking a procedure.
PREEVŪ’s CEO, Nash Bowen, explains that their systems are built around actual surgical references, drawing from more than 200,000 surgical outcomes for each procedure type. "PREEVŪ is not about applying a generalized beauty filter; it’s about understanding the actual procedure and the patient's starting anatomy," Bowen stated. This approach is crucial as image-generation technology becomes more accessible to consumers.
The platform is designed to help practices distinguish between well-informed, qualified patients and those who may need additional education. It can also re-engage older leads by inviting inactive patients to explore the procedures they previously considered. This activity can then be followed through the consultation process, allowing practices to connect patient engagement with actual revenue.
PREEVŪ's provider platform includes HIPAA-aligned safeguards for patient data, ensuring secure storage and messaging. The broader opportunity for PREEVŪ lies in its two-sided model, which benefits both patients and practices by providing clearer communication and engagement throughout the patient journey.
With the growing demand for cosmetic procedures and the need for more efficient consultation processes, PREEVŪ Plastic is positioning itself as a key player in the industry.
