PhotoShelter, a leading digital asset management (DAM) platform for brands, has launched a new AI assistant aimed at streamlining content management for its users. This innovative tool promises to transform hours of manual work into simple, conversational requests, making library management more efficient and user-friendly.

The AI Assistant, first demoed at the UPAA Conference in June 2026, is designed to help teams rename files, build galleries, and clean up metadata without requiring any technical setup or IT intervention. According to PhotoShelter, more than half of marketers report organization as the top challenge they face, and the company's DAM report found that an average marketer spends 3.5 work weeks annually searching for files, equating to $5,000 in lost productivity.

Christina Kyriazi, CMO of PhotoShelter, explained, "Creative professionals are managing more events, more content, and more channels every year, and their libraries are growing even faster. We built our AI Assistant for the people who actually work in the library. You describe what you need, it shows you the plan, you approve it. That's the whole workflow."

The AI Assistant operates with strict guardrails to ensure user data remains secure. It cannot delete files from the library, works only within the logged-in user's permissions, and shows the user what it's going to do before making any changes. This ensures that users are always in control of the process.

Key capabilities of the AI Assistant include batch file renaming from plain-language instructions, bulk gallery and folder creation from a calendar or list, metadata cleanup at scale, and asset organization and sorting by metadata criteria. These features are designed to help users manage large volumes of content efficiently, reducing the time and effort required for routine tasks.

Users can also benefit from the AI Assistant's ability to find duplicate galleries, which helps in maintaining a single source of truth and reducing server space. As part of PhotoShelter's commitment to ethical AI practices, the assistant has been built to the standards of the company's AI Ethics Board and its published AI principles: permission-first, always transparent, and human-in-the-loop.

The AI Assistant is now available for PhotoShelter for Brands customers. With its intuitive design and powerful capabilities, it is expected to significantly enhance the efficiency of content management in high-volume environments, particularly in higher education, sports, and media sectors.
