Pelican AI Launches Fraud Alerts Optimizer to Reduce Costs and Friction

Pelican AI, a provider of artificial intelligence-powered solutions for payments, financial crime compliance, and trade finance, has launched a new product called Fraud Alerts Optimizer (FAO). This tool aims to help financial institutions reduce fraud operations costs and minimize customer friction by analyzing and identifying false positive alerts generated by existing fraud detection systems.

FAO operates as an intelligence layer on top of a financial institution’s current fraud controls. By applying Pelican’s AI capabilities and transaction intelligence, the product evaluates alerts produced by a financial institution’s existing fraud detection systems. It helps identify false positives before they enter or advance through a manual investigation queue, thereby reducing the time and expense devoted to transactions that are ultimately legitimate.

According to Nino Di Teodoro, Pelican AI’s Chief Executive Officer, false positives are one of the most persistent and expensive inefficiencies in financial institution fraud operations. FAO is designed to turn the intelligence financial institutions already possess, transaction history, known fraud signals, and market context, into faster, more confident alert decisions. By reducing unnecessary investigations, Pelican believes FAO can deliver a compelling return on investment, free skilled teams to focus on genuine threats, and provide a smoother experience for legitimate customers.

FAO is part of Pelican’s broader suite of solutions, which includes Pelican Payments, Pelican Secure, and AI-powered trade finance applications. The product is intended to complement, rather than replace, a financial institution’s current fraud controls. This approach is designed to lower integration complexity and costs, protect existing technology investments, and accelerate the path from pilot testing to broader deployment.

The launch of FAO also underscores the commercial potential of Pelican’s broader AI platform.

Pelican AI’s portfolio includes a range of solutions designed to help financial institutions, fintech companies, and corporations modernize transaction processing, manage risk, and lower operating costs. These solutions include:

- Pelican Payments: A suite of tools that use AI and natural language processing to automate payment data validation, routing, and transaction insight. - Pelican Secure: A comprehensive suite of compliance tools that include watchlist and sanctions screening, anti-money laundering, and payments fraud prevention. - Pelican Trade: AI-driven solutions for trade digitization, automation, and compliance.

FAO is part of several enhancements and new products on Pelican’s roadmap. The company expects to provide additional product announcements and pilot invitations as development and testing milestones are achieved.
