VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Sept. 08, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Pecoy Copper Corp. has significantly ramped up its exploration efforts at the Pecoy Copper-Gold-Molybdenum-Silver Project in southern Peru. The company now operates four drilling rigs at the site, with plans to add a fifth rig to further expand its exploration program.
Pecoy Copper began trading on the TSX Venture Exchange one year ago, on September 8, 2025. Since then, the company has made substantial progress in advancing its operations at Pecoy. The 2026 exploration program is fully funded and will encompass approximately 35,000 meters of drilling. This ambitious program is focused on expanding known mineralization, testing high-priority targets, and deepening the company's understanding of the broader porphyry system.
Vincent Cardin-Tremblay, Pecoy Copper's Chief Geological Officer, confirmed that the ongoing exploration efforts are being closely monitored. "With four rigs currently in operation, we are well-positioned to achieve our objectives," he stated. "The drilling and assay results are expected to provide valuable insights into the potential of the project and contribute to the advancement of Pecoy."
The company's exploration program is structured to systematically explore the project area, with the aim of identifying new mineralized zones and increasing the overall resource base. The Main Zone and the South Breccia are key areas of focus, with the Northwest area also receiving attention as part of the exploration strategy.
Pecoy Copper's President and CEO, Vincent Metcalfe, expressed optimism about the progress made so far. "We are executing our exploration program at pace, and we are excited about the potential for significant discoveries," he said. "Our goal is to continue advancing Pecoy at a rapid pace, ensuring that our exploration efforts remain fully funded and well-resourced."
With the addition of a fifth rig planned, Pecoy Copper is poised to increase its exploration efforts further. The company's commitment to expanding its operations is evident in its ambitious 2026 exploration program, which is expected to deliver substantial results in the coming months. As the drilling and assay results continue to be processed, stakeholders can look forward to updates on the project's progress.
Pecoy Copper's project covers approximately 19,800 hectares in southern Peru, benefitting from access to established infrastructure, power, water, and Pacific ports.
