LOS ANGELES, Oct. 7, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Parallel Systems, the world's leading battery-electric autonomous freight rail company, has secured $100 million in a new Series C funding round. This significant capital injection will accelerate the production of the company's next-generation Panther rail vehicle and support its expansion into international markets.

Founded in 2020 by Matt Soule, who previously spent 13 years at SpaceX, Parallel Systems has assembled a team of engineers and rail operations professionals dedicated to driving full commercialization. The company's mission is to provide a safer, more efficient, and sustainable alternative to short-haul trucking. By enabling railroads to handle shorter, lower-density routes competitively, Parallel Systems aims to tap into the existing U.S. rail network, which remains significantly underutilized for shorter haul routes, representing 60% of the surface freight market.

The $1 trillion market for surface freight, currently dominated by trucking, continues to face severe pressure from rising operational costs, tightening capacity, and strict logistics constraints. Parallel Systems' integrated technology offers an on-demand freight movement solution that combines the flexibility of trucking with the cost and environmental efficiencies of rail. The company's third-generation Panther rail vehicle is designed to seamlessly integrate advanced hardware and software, providing a comprehensive autonomous delivery system.

Since closing its Series B round in 2025, Parallel Systems has made significant strides. The company has transitioned from initial prototyping to live commercial deployment under regulatory test approval. Major railroads are now under contract to deploy Parallel Systems to transport commercial freight using the company's fully integrated autonomous delivery system. A notable pilot in Georgia, in partnership with short-line railroad operator Genesee & Wyoming (G&W), is actively advancing under Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) supervision.

Matt Soule, the Founder and CEO of Parallel Systems, expressed optimism about the future.

To date, Parallel Systems has raised more than $200 million in funding, positioning it as a leader in the autonomous freight rail sector. The company's innovative approach to short-haul logistics is expected to revolutionize the industry, offering a more efficient and environmentally friendly solution to traditional trucking.
