LA SELVA BEACH, CA, UNITED STATES, October 15, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Parallel Flight Technologies, a leader in hybrid heavy-lift unmanned aerial systems, has announced a strategic distribution partnership with Drone Forge, an Australia-based provider of advanced drone solutions. This partnership aims to expand the reach of Parallel Flight’s flagship aircraft, the Firefly UAS, into the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, with an initial focus on Australia and its territories.
The partnership is a response to the growing demand for long-endurance, heavy-lift aerial capabilities across various industries, including defense, maritime operations, mining, wildland fire management, and critical infrastructure. By establishing a regional partner, Parallel Flight is better positioned to support customers locally and accelerate the adoption of its Firefly platform.
Under the agreement, Drone Forge will serve as the Australian and Asia-Pacific regional distributor for the Firefly platform. This role includes supporting sales, customer integration, and in-region operations. Over time, Drone Forge is expected to expand its role to include authorized service, maintenance, and training capabilities, further strengthening customer support across the region.
The Firefly UAS is a Group 3 UAS, produced in the USA and widely regarded as an "autonomous pick-up truck in the sky." It is designed to fit in the back of a pickup truck and is optimized for expeditionary defense and industrial missions. The aircraft is powered by its patented Parallel Hybrid Electric Multirotor (PHEM) propulsion system, which delivers a payload capacity of up to 100 lb (45 kg) and endurance up to 10 times greater than all-electric UAS. Additionally, the platform can supply up to 2 kW of continuous in-flight power to payloads, making it a versatile tool for various applications.
This partnership marks a significant step in Parallel Flight’s global expansion, bringing its technology closer to customers and reinforcing its commitment to enabling reliable, mission-ready heavy-lift UAS capabilities worldwide.
The NDAA-compliant Firefly is protected by five patents and supported by organizations such as the Office of Naval Research (ONR), Defense Innovation Unit (DIU), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), NASA, and the National Science Foundation (NSF). The platform is designed for applications including wildfire response, medical and remote logistics, agriculture, utilities, and critical defense missions.
By leveraging the expertise of Drone Forge, Parallel Flight aims to better support customers in the APAC region, providing them with the necessary local support and operational capabilities. The partnership is expected to drive the adoption of the Firefly platform in key industries, addressing the growing demand for advanced aerial solutions in the region.
This strategic move by Parallel Flight Technologies and Drone Forge underscores the importance of regional partnerships in expanding the market for advanced UAS technologies. As the partnership progresses, both companies are expected to work closely to ensure the successful integration and support of the Firefly platform across the broader APAC region.
