MENLO PARK, Calif. and PARIS, Oct. 06, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- PacBio and TychoBio, two leading companies in their respective fields, have announced a significant collaboration aimed at advancing the development of RNA therapeutics for rare diseases. The partnership will leverage PacBio's advanced sequencing technologies, particularly its HiFi long-read sequencing, to generate comprehensive RNA data that will be used by TychoBio to train AI models for the design of steric blocking antisense oligonucleotides (SBOs).

Under the terms of the agreement, TychoBio will utilize PacBio's HiFi sequencing and Kinnex long-read RNA sequencing to produce data from over 10,000 samples. This extensive dataset will be instrumental in building large-scale datasets that link the design of SBOs to their effects across the transcriptome. TychoBio plans to expand this approach to include siRNA and other RNA-targeting compounds, further enhancing the scope of the research.

The collaboration's primary goal is to generate high-quality biological data that will be used to train AI models, thereby maximizing the efficacy and duration of SBOs. This data will also help uncover new insights into RNA regulation and the mechanism of action of SBOs, accelerating the development of safer and more efficient therapeutic designs for rare diseases.

PacBio, known for its advanced sequencing technologies, has already partnered with various organizations across the rare disease community, including the n-Lorem Foundation and EspeRare, to support the characterization, diagnosis, and development of therapeutics for rare diseases. The company's Kinnex products, alongside HiFi sequencing, enable the screening of thousands of sequences in multiple cell lineages, as well as the development of models of both efficacy and toxicity. These advancements are critical to advancing potential rare disease therapies from the laboratory to clinical trials.

The collaboration between PacBio and TychoBio puts high-quality HiFi data directly into the research workflow for designing RNA therapeutics for rare diseases. This partnership underscores the importance of high-quality sequencing data in the development of AI models, which can significantly impact the treatment of rare diseases.
