SYDNEY, Oct. 13, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- From 14 October, eligible Medibank members living with cancer can access Osara Health's Cancer Coach program for personalized support with the physical and emotional challenges of diagnosis and treatment. The program, which is available to more than 4 million Medibank customers, is designed to complement the care provided by each person's treating team.
Osara Health, an Australian company founded by oncologists in 2016, has partnered with Medibank, one of Australia's largest private health insurers, to offer its evidence-based Cancer Coach program. The partnership aims to provide more than 170,000 cancer patients diagnosed in Australia each year with the support they need to manage their condition. The program involves working one-on-one with a dedicated health coach, who is an exercise physiologist trained in health coaching. These coaches help participants set personal health goals and provide practical guidance on fatigue, sleep, physical activity, nutrition, and emotional well-being.
Participants also receive personalized education and access to the Osara Health app, which is designed to support their journey through the program. The program is delivered remotely over 6 to 12 weeks, allowing members to take part from home, including in regional and remote areas. After the coaching ends, participants retain access to the app and educational resources.
Dr. Raghav Murali-Ganesh, the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Osara Health, explained that the program addresses the challenges patients face between appointments.
A study published in JMIR Cancer in 2026 found that people who participated in the program reported, on average, clinically meaningful improvements in both their physical and mental health.
Osara Health provides evidence-based cancer support through one-on-one health coaching, personalized education, and digital tools. Its programs are backed by more than 10 peer-reviewed studies and are currently offered in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and the United States.
