Oroco Resource Corp. has announced the latest batch of assay results from its ongoing drilling program at the Santo Tomás copper project in Mexico. The company has completed 50 holes in the South and Pillar Zones, with a total of 15,263.2 meters drilled using three active rigs.
The latest results from hole S045 are particularly noteworthy. This hole delivered a 234.6-meter interval of 0.52% copper equivalent (CuEq) from an initial depth of 174.1 meters. This result supports the company's ongoing optimism for an expanded resource model at Santo Tomás.
Other highlights from the drilling program include: - Hole S046 returned 128.0 meters at 0.36% copper (0.48% CuEq) from the surface, with additional mineralization below the 2024 Preliminary Economic Analysis (PEA) pit. - Hole S049 intersected 86.1 meters at 0.51% copper (0.60% CuEq) from 85.5 meters, reinforcing the southern higher-grade zone. - Hole S050 intersected 6.0 meters of carbonate-hosted mineralization at 4.18% zinc, 1.71% lead, 75 grams per tonne silver, 0.35 grams per tonne gold, and 0.48% copper from 36.0 meters. This interval is described separately as it does not meet the 10-meter minimum length used for the significant intercept table.
The company has completed the South Zone resource drilling, with Pillar Zone and geotechnical work continuing.
The drilling program is part of Phase 2, which is designed to provide the drilling density and technical data needed to evaluate the potential conversion of Inferred Mineral Resources to the Indicated category in the South Zone. The program is also collecting geotechnical, hydrogeological, and metallurgical data to support pre-feasibility study (PFS)-level mine planning.
The company is also preparing a 707 line-kilometer drone magnetic survey over the Vainilla property, which is located approximately 17 kilometers south of the Santo Tomás South Zone. This survey will be followed by a 3D DCIP geophysics program over priority areas.
