ONTARIO, Calif., Sept. 16, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Ontario International Airport (ONT) has maintained its position as the second-best medium-sized airport in North America for the second consecutive year, according to the latest JD Power 2026 North America Airport Satisfaction Study. The airport earned a customer satisfaction score of 705, just seven points behind the top-ranked airport.

Atif Elkadi, Chief Executive Officer of the Ontario International Airport Authority (OIAA), expressed pride in the achievement, emphasizing the trust and positive experience passengers have reported.

ONT ranked first in two key categories: the arrival/departure experience and level of trust. The airport's back-to-back second-place rankings underscore its commitment to its growing customer base. Since the airport's return to local ownership in 2016, passenger volumes have increased by 75%, and the airport is on track to serve more than 7 million travelers this year.

The JD Power study measures passenger satisfaction across seven key dimensions, including ease of travel through the airport, terminal facilities, airport staff, and the food, beverage, and retail experience. Elkadi highlighted that the recognition is particularly meaningful as ONT approaches a decade under local ownership and prepares for its next era of growth.

"As ONT continues to grow and we move forward with the next generation of our airport, we are determined to protect what makes this place special. More passengers, more destinations, and new facilities should never come at the expense of the experience our customers have come to expect."

Ontario International Airport (ONT) serves more than 7 million passengers per year and offers nonstop service to two dozen major airports in the U.S., Mexico, Central America, and Taiwan. The airport is owned and operated by the Ontario International Airport Authority, a Joint Powers Agreement between the City of Ontario and San Bernardino County.
