OM Digital Solutions Unveils OM SYSTEM PEN Camera

OM Digital Solutions Corporation has unveiled the OM SYSTEM PEN, the first PEN series camera under its new brand, marking a significant step in the company’s product lineup. Scheduled for release in late October 2026, the PEN is designed to be a versatile and user-friendly tool for both novice and experienced photographers.

The OM SYSTEM PEN combines traditional rangefinder aesthetics with modern technology, offering a dust and splash-proof design that ensures photographers can capture images in diverse environments. This feature, combined with an electronic viewfinder, makes the camera an ideal companion for travel and everyday photography. The PEN is available in silver and black, priced at $999.99 USD and $1,399.99 CAD, respectively.

Included in the base kit is the M.ZUIKO DIGITAL 14-42mm F3.5-5.6 III lens, which is IPX1-rated for splash protection and dust-proofing, ensuring photographers can shoot in various weather conditions. The camera features a 20.37 million effective pixel Live MOS sensor and a TruePic IX image processing engine, delivering high-resolution images and 5-axis image stabilization that enhances hand-held shooting by up to 5.5 stops in the center and 4.5 stops at the edges.

For creative expression, the PEN offers Color & Monochrome Profile Control, allowing users to emulate different film types. Users can choose from presets like "Film Rich Color" for deep tones, "Film Vivid" for vivid saturation, "Film Soft Tone" for a light, delicate atmosphere, and "Standard" for a natural look. Monochrome profiles include options for film grain effects, highlight and shadow control, and shading effects to create unique black and white images. These settings can be previewed through the electronic viewfinder, enabling photographers to fine-tune their shots in real-time.

The camera also supports computational photography, including compositing techniques such as Tripod High Res Shot Mode, Handheld High Res Shot, Live ND (ND2-16), Focus Stacking, HDR (HDR1 and 2), and Multiple Exposure. These features allow users to create dramatic landscapes, smooth water effects, and other advanced photographic expressions directly within the camera.

Additional features include 121-point all cross-type On-chip Phase Detection AF, AI Subject Detection AF for people and animals (cats and dogs), Starry Sky AF, and a dust reduction system that keeps the image sensor clean for consistent performance. AUTO mode automatically detects the scene and captures images using optimal settings, while 24 SCN modes and 16 Art Filters offer more complex shooting scenarios.
