OCSP launches NavigationGate to enhance aviation and navigation continuity

MONTREAL, September 1, 2026, OSCP, a Montreal-based company that develops and manufactures photonics-based inertial measurement units (IMUs) and inertial sensing systems, has launched a new product called NavigationGate. This innovation addresses a critical need in the aviation and navigation industries, where satellite-based positioning systems can be disrupted, leading to navigation issues.

In a statement, OSCP’s founder and CEO, Kazem Zandi, highlighted the product’s significance: "Our customers don't have a problem with the sensors themselves; they have a continuity problem. NavigationGate fills this gap, and it does so directly on the circuit board."

The new product, NavigationGate, is designed to integrate seamlessly into OSCP’s existing MK2 IMU family. It uses both traditional IMUs and advanced photonics-based IMUs, covering tactical and navigation grade classes. In a recent field test, NavigationGate performed exceptionally well. During a 21-minute test with satellite navigation signals cut off, the system's photonics IMU was only 5.7 meters off the reference position, compared to 20.5 meters for a MEMS IMU with similar sensor support.

"Uninterrupted navigation is crucial for operations where satellite signals are unreliable," explained Zandi. "NavigationGate ensures seamless operation by fusing inertial data with GNSS signals, even when the satellite system is down."

Currently, the first production batch of NavigationGate is available for pre-order. The product is developed and manufactured in Montreal and does not fall under ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) restrictions, making it suitable for a wide range of applications.
