Oceana Honors Jeff and Emilie Goldblum at 25th Anniversary Gala

NEW YORK, Sept. 16, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Oceana, the largest international organization dedicated to ocean conservation, celebrated its 25th anniversary and more than 350 policy victories at its 12th New York Gala on September 15. The event, held at the Rainbow Room in Rockefeller Center, honored Jeff and Emilie Goldblum for their nearly two-decade-long support of the organization.

Jeff and Emilie Goldblum, known for their contributions to Oceana, were recognized for their efforts. Jeff, a musician with the band the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra, performed at Oceana's events. The couple has also rallied support for Oceana's campaigns with elected officials and inspired others to join their cause. Their most recent contribution came from hosting two Colossal competitions, which raised over $2.6 million for Oceana's global campaigns.

During the gala, Martha Stewart was celebrated as the Ocean Champion. Stewart, a New York Times-bestselling author, Emmy Award-winning TV host, and entrepreneur, has long championed a deeper appreciation for the natural world and sustainable practices that protect the resources we depend on. In her book "Hope in the Water," Stewart explored how sustainable aquaculture can help restore ocean ecosystems while producing healthy food, highlighting the connection between healthy oceans, the food we eat, and our everyday lives.

The evening featured a lineup of distinguished guests, including Oceana Board Member Sam Waterston, who served as the master of ceremonies. Waterston expressed his gratitude for being part of Oceana, calling it an honor of his lifetime. Other notable attendees included Jaimie Alexander, Christina Ochoa, Laura Marano, Kara Young, and Michael R. Bloomberg, founder of Bloomberg LP and Bloomberg Philanthropies.

Bloomberg's Ocean Initiative, which supports organizations and communities working to protect ocean ecosystems, introduced Martha Stewart as the Ocean Champion. Stewart's recognition underscores the importance of her work and the organization's mission.

The gala also celebrated Oceana's achievements, which have raised over $22.6 million since the New York Gala's inception. This year's event raised more than $1.9 million, bringing the total to date. Oceana's campaigns focus on rebuilding abundant and biodiverse oceans by winning science-based policies that stop overfishing, protect habitats and threatened species, curb oil and plastic pollution, and increase transparency at sea.
