The Oakland Raiders have unveiled a new cultural experience celebrating the passion and drama of Raider Nation in Mexico. The team premiered "Corazón de Plata y Negro," a special event during the Raiders' Draft Party in Mexico, as part of its global "Football Is Back" campaign. The story, rooted in Mexican popular culture, delves into the emotional core of fandom, love for the team, unyielding rituals, and the season-long obsession that brings hope and drama.
For the start of the NFL season, the Raiders have extended this experience to a live activation at NFL Mexico's Kickoff Event in Mexico City on September 9. Two members of the cast, Julio Bracho and Jimena Sánchez, will join fans for a special activation where attendees can take photos, get autographs, and step inside the world of the series.
The event recreates a central setting from the production, a family living room where a Raiders jersey takes center stage. Fans can step onto the set, recreate scenes from the production, and become part of the story themselves. They will also have the opportunity to watch all four episodes of "Corazón de Plata y Negro" and participate in activities designed to celebrate the beginning of the new season.
Kristen Banks, the team's Marketing Director, commented, "Football Is Back is one of the most anticipated moments of the year for our fans. With 'Corazón de Plata y Negro,' we wanted to capture the emotions that make being part of Raider Nation so special. The love, the hope, the drama, and the passion that stay with our fans throughout the season."
The Raiders are leveraging culturally relevant storytelling to connect with fans in Mexico, using humor and familiar references to celebrate the universal truth of football fandom: the commitment to every game, every season, and every moment with emotion. This activation aligns with the team's participation in the league's Global Markets Program, which aims to develop marketing activities, deepen fan engagement, and grow the Raiders' brand in international markets.
The event is part of the team's strategy to engage with its growing fanbase in Mexico, bringing the excitement and drama of Raider Nation to life in a culturally resonant way.
