Nutanix has been recognized in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Container Management for the second consecutive year. This acknowledgment highlights the company’s ongoing success and its position as a leading provider of container management solutions.

Nutanix Kubernetes Platform (NKP) is a full-scale enterprise platform designed to simplify Kubernetes operations across a wide range of environments. The platform can run independently or as part of Nutanix Cloud Platform (NCP), supporting Kubernetes across virtualized and bare-metal infrastructure, public cloud, edge, and air-gapped environments. Nutanix claims that NKP is a Cloud Native Computing Foundation certified Kubernetes AI conformant platform, offering built-in extensions for enterprises to safely build and run agentic AI anywhere.

According to Thomas Cornely, Executive Vice President, Product Management at Nutanix, "As organizations modernize their applications and embrace AI, they need infrastructure that gives them greater simplicity and flexibility without creating new silos." The recognition for the second consecutive year, Cornely believes, reflects the progress made with NKP and Nutanix’s broader approach to helping customers run traditional, cloud native, and AI workloads on a unified platform.

Nutanix continues to expand its cloud native capabilities with the introduction of NKP Metal, which extends NKP to provide unparalleled simplicity to Kubernetes deployments directly on bare-metal infrastructure. NKP Metal is designed to bring automated deployment, lifecycle management, and enterprise data services to physical infrastructure, offering organizations greater flexibility to run modern and AI workloads across virtualized and bare-metal environments.

The Gartner report notes that Nutanix’s recognition as a Challenger in the 2026 Magic Quadrant for Container Management follows the 2024 launch of NKP. It highlights Nutanix’s ability to simplify the management of cloud native applications across distributed, stateful, and disconnected environments while providing a unified infrastructure foundation for traditional, modern, and AI workloads. The report also underscores Nutanix’s commitment to innovation, with its NKP Metal extension offering unparalleled simplicity for Kubernetes deployments on bare-metal infrastructure.

Nutanix’s recognition in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Container Management for the second year in a row is a significant milestone, reflecting the company’s ongoing leadership in the container management space. As organizations increasingly adopt Kubernetes and other container technologies to manage their cloud native applications, Nutanix’s comprehensive and flexible solutions are well-positioned to meet their needs.
