NEW YORK, Nov. 4, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- NOVOS, a longevity-focused biotechnology company, has announced the publication of a peer-reviewed study in the European Heart Journal Open that demonstrates the positive impact of its supplement, NOVOS Core, on key measures of cardiovascular health in healthy adults aged 40 and older. The study, led by Professor Christian Heiss, a professor of cardiovascular medicine at the University of Surrey, found that six months of daily NOVOS Core improved blood vessel function, arterial flexibility, and systolic blood pressure in participants.
The trial, titled STAMINA (Effects of a Supplement to Target Ageing Mechanisms on Vascular Function), was a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study. It enrolled 61 apparently healthy, non-smoking adults aged 40 and older. Of these, 33 participants took NOVOS Core, while 28 took a placebo that was matched for look and taste. People with unstable cardiovascular disease, heart rhythm disorders, or active cancer were excluded from the study. Thirty-one of the 61 participants were women, making up over half of the trial group, which is in line with the proportion of women in more than 1,000 cardiovascular trials registered from 2017 to 2023, according to a Cedars-Sinai analysis in JAMA Network Open.
The primary endpoint of the study was flow-mediated dilation (FMD), an established measure of how well arteries widen as blood flow increases. After six months, the NOVOS Core group showed a 47% increase in FMD from baseline, with an improvement of 2.9 percentage points over the placebo group. This magnitude is considered clinically meaningful in published vascular research.
Arterial flexibility was another key measure. Carotid-femoral pulse wave velocity (PWV), the standard measure of arterial stiffness and a marker of vascular aging, fell with NOVOS Core and rose with placebo, showing an adjusted between-group difference of 1.18 meters per second. This difference is commonly associated in the literature with multi-year differences in vascular aging, as PWV typically rises by approximately 1.0 meter per second per decade across adulthood.
Systolic blood pressure also saw a significant improvement. Over six months, participants taking NOVOS Core experienced a further reduction in systolic blood pressure compared to the placebo group, with an adjusted difference of 6.1 mmHg. The average blood pressure of participants was within the normal range at the start of the trial, and systolic pressure typically rises with age as arteries stiffen. In this trial, it fell to a healthier level.
The study also found that the benefits of NOVOS Core were evident within an hour of the first serving. One hour after the first serving, blood vessel function was already 3.9 percentage points above the placebo group. The six-month measurements were taken in a fasted state, roughly 24 hours after each participant's last serving. Participants who started with the weakest blood vessel function and the highest blood pressure tended to improve the most.
NOVOS Core combines 12 natural ingredients in one daily drink mix. Each ingredient was selected for evidence that it acts on several of the 12 biological hallmarks of aging, for links to longevity in scientific studies, and for decades of safe human use. The formula is designed to target the hallmarks of aging together, with the goal of supporting healthspan, lifespan, and whole-body health.
Founded in 2019, NOVOS is dedicated to developing evidence-based interventions to support healthy aging. The STAMINA trial builds on earlier NOVOS laboratory and animal research and extends that work into people. The full study is available at novoslabs.com/study.
