Novo Nordisk, the global healthcare company, has embarked on a new chapter aimed at bringing better health to more people through a rebrand and an updated corporate culture. The Danish firm unveiled a new tagline, "Lasting Health Starts Now," and adopted the single name "Novo" to better connect with its stakeholders.
Mike Doustdar, the president and CEO of Novo Nordisk, explained that the rebrand is part of the company's strategy to address the unmet needs in healthcare and align with the evolving expectations of patients. "Our brand and culture are strategically important, but the reason we exist will not change. We remain true to our purpose of changing people's lives and are ambitious about our future to help them have lasting health, starting right now."
The rebranding effort includes a new visual identity that features the Apis bull logo, rooted in Novo's heritage, while giving the brand a contemporary and future-fit expression. The company will use "Novo" as its name in day-to-day operations, while retaining the legal global name, Novo Nordisk A/S.
According to Tania Sabroe, the executive vice president of People, Organisation & Corporate Affairs, the rebrand is designed to be more memorable and relevant to how people engage with their health today.
Alongside the rebrand, Novo Nordisk has introduced a new set of principles, "The Novo Way," to guide its corporate culture. The principles are centered around four key areas: Customer Obsession, Competitiveness, Clarity, and Care & Integrity.
"The Novo Way" is built on the strengths that have defined Novo for over a century, including breakthrough science, deep expertise, care for people, and an unwavering commitment to patient safety. The new culture aims to enable the company to innovate and lead in a faster, more competitive, and increasingly consumer-driven market.
At its Capital Markets Day on September 21 in London, Novo Nordisk will provide a detailed overview of the updated corporate strategy. The company will share insights on how it plans to drive change for lasting health and expand its role as a trusted partner in healthcare.
Every day, over 67,000 employees around the world work to advance the company's purpose. Through partnerships, programs, and investments, Novo Nordisk is committed to preventing disease, expanding access to treatments, and reducing its environmental impact to help even more people live healthier lives.
