Northern Lights Resources Corp. has unveiled a groundbreaking 3D geophysical animation of the Horetzky Copper Project, providing a detailed visualization of the project's deep structure. The animation, released on September 3, 2026, complements recent exploration updates and aims to enhance understanding of the Horetzky porphyry system.
Luka Capin, Interim CEO of Northern Lights Resources Corp., expressed excitement about the new resource, stating, "This animation brings the complex geology of the Horetzky porphyry system to life, offering a clear and comprehensive view of the magnetic and resistivity models. Static 2D renderings fail to capture the scale and detail of the target, allowing us to better prioritize and refine our exploration efforts."
The 3D animation integrates data from multiple sources, including the 2021 aeromagnetic susceptibility inversion and the 2026 MobileMT resistivity inversion. It highlights a multi-phase magnetic intrusive complex extending over 2,500 meters from the surface to a depth limit of 1,000 meters. The animation clearly illustrates the relationship between the magnetic and resistive models, providing a more nuanced understanding of the project's potential.
The Horetzky Copper Project spans 5,057 hectares in British Columbia’s Babine Porphyry Belt, an area known for its rich geological history. The project benefits from a five-year exploration permit, allowing for geophysical surveys, trenching, and up to 100 diamond drill holes. Previous exploration by companies like Falconbridge and Hecla Operating Company has yielded promising results, with typical porphyry-style copper mineralization encountered.
The animation is part of a broader strategy to leverage advanced geophysical techniques to enhance exploration efforts. Steven McMullan, a qualified person as defined by National Instrument 43-101, supervised the preparation and review of the information contained in the news release.
Capin added, "The integration of these geophysical models into a 3D animation will significantly aid our understanding of the Horetzky project. It provides a clearer picture of the complex geological structures and will inform our future exploration strategies."
The Horetzky project is situated in an area well-endowed with porphyry copper and related mineralization. The Babine Porphyry Belt, characterized by Eocene age diorite to granodiorite porphyries, has a rich history of mineral exploration, including the Bell and Granisle copper mines and several advanced exploration projects.
