Nokia and BeeHealthy integrate Network as Code for secure healthcare login

Espoo, Finland, Nokia and BeeHealthy have announced a strategic collaboration to integrate Nokia’s Network as Code technology into BeeHealthy’s digital healthcare platform, enhancing security and user experience for patients accessing healthcare services. This move marks a significant step in transforming network capabilities into commercial services across various industries, including healthcare, which has stringent security and privacy requirements.
BeeHealthy, a leading digital healthcare platform owned by Mehiläinen, a prominent private healthcare provider in Europe, offers a configurable, white-label software as a service (SaaS) platform used by healthcare providers, veterinary care organizations, and insurers in countries such as Finland, Sweden, Germany, Estonia, the Netherlands, and the United Arab Emirates. The integration of Nokia’s Network as Code technology will replace traditional SMS one-time passcodes with a more secure and seamless login process for patients.

Nokia’s Network as Code platform brings together operator networks to create a developer-friendly platform that allows enterprises to access trusted network capabilities at scale. The integration with BeeHealthy’s platform will enable seamless number verification during login and booking processes, operating silently in the background and requiring no manual effort from users. This new system typically takes less than a second, providing a faster and more secure experience.
“Network as Code turns network capabilities into commercial services, creating value for enterprises, operators, and regulated industries like healthcare,” said Shkumbin Hamiti, vice president of Network Monetization Platform at Nokia. “This model is equally applicable across other sectors, such as finance, mobility, and digital commerce.”
The collaboration with BeeHealthy makes it the first healthcare company to use Nokia’s Network as Code platform commercially. In addition to number verification, the integration includes other Network as Code APIs such as SIM Swap/Number Recycling to prevent account takeover fraud, Location Verification to support appointment management, and KYC Match to validate user identity during onboarding in select markets. The companies are also exploring further Network as Code capabilities, such as Quality on Demand to support premium, latency-sensitive healthcare services like video consultations.
