New Break Resources Ltd, a Canadian mineral exploration company, has announced significant gold discoveries at its Moray gold project, located 49 kilometers southeast of Timmins, Ontario. The company has completed a ten-hole, 1,996-meter summer drilling program in the Zavitz gold zone, with results indicating ongoing gold mineralization in every drillhole.
The latest results from the final four holes of the summer drilling program show promising gold values. Specifically, drillhole NBR-26-29 returned 3.12 grams per tonne (g/t) of gold over 6.5 meters, while NBR-26-30 yielded 1.61 g/t of gold over 10.8 meters. These results are part of a larger 5,372-meter drilling program that has been completed in 32 drillholes in 2026.
The drilling program has extended the known gold mineralization southeast into the syenite, a significant discovery given the presence of syenite-hosted mineralization at the nearby Young-Davidson gold mine operated by Alamos Gold Inc.
The company's exploration efforts have identified gold mineralization predominantly within the mafic volcanics. Drillholes NBR-26-29 and NBR-26-32, the deepest to date, demonstrate that gold mineralization extends into the syenite to the southeast at the contact with the mafic volcanics. This finding is particularly noteworthy as it could indicate the potential for significantly expanding the Moray gold discovery.
The Zavitz gold zone has a distinctive magnetic high, which Love attributes to the higher proportion of iron in the mafic volcanics. This magnetic and induced polarization (IP) signature has been identified in other areas believed to be along the intrusive-mafic volcanic contact. The company plans to test these targets with the goal of identifying gold mineralization similar to that encountered in the Zavitz zone, which could represent the first of a series of stacked mineralized gold zones.
The Moray property is situated in the heart of the Ontario Abitibi greenstone belt, surrounded by significant gold producers and existing infrastructure. The Young-Davidson gold mine, operated by Alamos Gold Inc., is within a short trucking distance of approximately 45 kilometers by road from the Moray project. The understanding of gold mineralization at Moray continues to evolve, with the recent drilling suggesting that the gold mineralization may resemble an intrusion-related deposit, similar to Agnico Eagle's Upper Beaver gold deposit east of Kirkland Lake.
New Break Resources Ltd conducts its exploration activities in accordance with CIM Best Practices Guidelines. The company's exploration program is supported by QA/QC procedures, including the insertion of commercially prepared certified reference material standards and blanks at a rate of one QAQC sample in every 12 core samples. All samples are analyzed at Activation Laboratories in Timmins, Ontario, which is ISO 17025 certified.
The company's 2026 drilling program has now completed 6,620 meters in 38 drillholes in the Zavitz gold zone, with New Break's total 2026 drilling program reaching 5,372 meters in 32 drillholes. The company plans to continue its exploration efforts to further delineate and expand the gold mineralization at Moray.
