New Aurora Metals Corp. is set to commence a ground induced polarization (IP) geophysical survey at its Urban Barry Property, marking a shift from its initial plans. The company, based in Vancouver, British Columbia, announced that the first phase exploration will now be an IP survey, scheduled to start on October 17, 2026.
Originally, New Aurora had planned to conduct a small 500-meter diamond drill program. However, due to challenging ground conditions and difficulties in securing a drilling contractor, the company has opted for an alternative approach. The IP survey is expected to cover 21 line-kilometers and is estimated to cost $210,000. The program is intended to extend and complete coverage from the 2025 IP survey and establish continuity with the 2021 IP survey on the property.
The IP survey will focus on further defining six conductors previously identified through a 2016 Very Low Frequency-Electromagnetic (VLF-EM) survey. Francis R. Newton, a Qualified Person under National Instrument 43-101, has reviewed and approved the technical information contained in the news release. Newton is independent of the company.
The Urban Barry Property is located in Belmont Township, within the Eeyou-Istchee Baie-James territory of the Nord du Québec region. It is situated 220 kilometers northeast of the largest regional city, Val d'Or, 100 kilometers west of the small town of Lebel-sur-Quévillon, and 80 kilometers south of the small town of Chapais. The property consists of 20 map-designated claims.
The company's exploration efforts are part of its ongoing efforts to identify potential mineral deposits. The results of the IP survey will be evaluated upon completion, and the information obtained will be used to determine the next phase of the exploration activities. New Aurora Metals Corp. remains committed to advancing its exploration program and identifying valuable mineral resources in the region.
The company will evaluate the results of the survey upon completion and use the information obtained to determine the next phase of its exploration activities. The Urban Barry Property is situated in a strategic location, providing New Aurora with access to a promising exploration area. The survey is expected to provide valuable insights into the geological characteristics of the property, potentially leading to the discovery of significant mineral deposits.
