Jackson County residents now have a new option for specialized addiction treatment with the opening of a new clinic in Medford. Ideal Option, a national leader in evidence-based outpatient treatment for addiction, has established its first location in Jackson County at 401 Crater Lake Ave, Suites 1 & 2.
The new clinic aims to provide in-person medication-assisted treatment for opioids, alcohol, and other substances. According to Zachary Gould, community and law enforcement outreach manager for Ideal Option in Oregon, the clinic will offer a low-barrier option for Jackson County residents, with the same evidence-based, judgment-free model that has driven positive outcomes in other locations.
Jackson County has seen a significant increase in impaired driving incidents. The Jackson County Sheriff's Office reported a record 479 DUII arrests in 2025, surpassing the county's previous all-time high by more than 100 arrests. Additionally, 10 crashes resulting in 14 deaths in 2025 are believed to have been caused by drug or alcohol impairment.
Statewide, Oregon has experienced a sustained drop in overdose deaths, with a 16% year-over-year decline in 2024 to 1,544 deaths, marking the state's first annual decrease since 2016. State health officials attribute the decline to fewer fentanyl-involved overdoses, although they caution that overdose rates remain far above where they stood five or six years ago.
Ideal Option's 2025 Annual Patient Outcomes Report, which aggregates lab testing results from over 1,400 patients in Oregon, shows that 95% of patients in long-term treatment achieve sustained abstinence from opioids and stimulants. For Oregon patients progressing from treatment initiation to maintenance in 2024, the report indicates a 93% reduction in opioid use and an 84% reduction in stimulant use.
The new clinic, which is Ideal Option's first location in Jackson County, expands the organization's Oregon footprint to the Rogue Valley. Ideal Option has specialized in addiction medicine using buprenorphine-based medications such as Suboxone® since 2012 and currently operates 80 clinics across nine states.
The outpatient clinic is open to new and existing patients Monday through Thursday, from 7:45 a.m. to 6 p.m. Most forms of insurance are accepted, including Medicare and Medicaid. Patients can make an appointment by calling 1.877.522.1275 or visiting the company's website at www.idealoption.com.
Ideal Option's mission is to serve under-served communities and provide evidence-based treatment. The company collaborates with emergency rooms, county jail systems, and numerous support agencies to improve the continuum of care. With a team of medical providers carrying certifications in Addiction and Emergency Medicine, Internal, and Family Medicine, among other specialties, Ideal Option offers a holistic approach to treatment, focusing on family stability, stable housing, improved overall health, and reduced rates of recidivism.
