Nestlé has agreed to sell its mainstream vitamins, minerals, and supplements business, a significant move in the company’s strategic transformation. The transaction, valued at USD 1 billion, is set to be completed by the first half of 2027, subject to regulatory approvals.

Philipp Navratil, CEO of Nestlé, stated, "This is another important step in the strategic transformation of our portfolio. We are focusing our resources where we have the strongest competitive advantage. With Nestlé’s strong innovation and brand-building capabilities, we are well positioned for growth in the premium, science-led VMS space, where brands such as Solgar and Pure Encapsulations continue to perform strongly."

The divested business, known as the Holistic Health portfolio, includes seven established brands: Nature's Bounty, Osteo Bi-Flex, Ester-C, Gard, Nuun, Puritan's Pride, and Sisu. Additionally, the transaction encompasses the associated US private-label supplements business, manufacturing, packaging, warehousing, and distribution operations. In 2025, the business generated sales of USD 1.2 billion, with a significant portion of its revenue coming from the US market. It also has a presence in Canada and China.

Navratil added, "The category has evolved, and the mainstream VMS business requires a different approach under dedicated ownership. This transaction allows us to focus on our core strengths and capitalize on the growth opportunities in the premium, science-led VMS space."

The deal highlights Nestlé's ongoing efforts to streamline its portfolio and allocate resources more efficiently. As the company continues to pivot towards premium and science-led products, the sale of the mainstream VMS business signals a strategic shift in its business model.
