National Pork Board has launched a campaign to celebrate the role of pork in Hispanic family traditions and cultural connections. The initiative, titled Explora Todo El Gusto Del Pork™, aims to engage Hispanic Gen Z and Millennial home cooks in sharing their cherished family pork dishes and the stories and traditions behind them.

The campaign, which runs from September 17 to 24, 2026, invites participants to submit their favorite family pork recipes along with the memories and traditions they represent. Selected submissions will be prepared by Mexican American actor Paulina Chávez and featured in a limited-edition collection launching this fall. Chávez, known for her roles in Landman and Fate: The Winx Saga, is sharing her own family’s pork traditions and encouraging others to do the same.

“Whether it’s your abuelita’s pozole, your dad’s carnitas, or the dish that brings everyone together for the holidays, every pork dish tells a story. I can’t wait to see the recipes and hear the memories behind them, because sharing them is how we preserve our culture, celebrate our traditions, and pass our gustos y sabores on to the next generation.”

Hispanic Gen Z and Millennials make up nearly 40% of the nation’s 68 million Hispanic population. According to a 2026 Spring MRI-Simmons report, 70% of Hispanic Gen Z consumers say it’s important that their children continue their family’s cultural traditions, while 74% of Hispanic consumers say cooking at home helps them connect with their cultural identity. Pork remains at the heart of many of these traditions, with 75% of Hispanic households preparing fresh pork at home, compared with 65% of non-Hispanic households.

The initiative builds on Explora Todo El Gusto Del Pork™, which celebrates pork’s flavor, versatility, and cultural connections in Hispanic kitchens. Participants can submit their recipes and stories by tagging @porkessabor and using the hashtag #npbsubmission on Instagram. Selected participants may have their pork dish prepared by Chávez and featured in the Explora Todo El Gusto Del Pork™ limited-edition collection launching this fall.

The National Pork Board is responsible for Checkoff-funded research, promotion, and consumer information projects, as well as for communicating with pork producers and the public. Through a legislative national Pork Checkoff, pork producers invest $0.35 for each $100 value of hogs sold. Importers of pork products contribute an equal amount based on a formula.
