WASHINGTON, November 3, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- The National Bar Association (NBA) has launched a nationwide effort to ensure every eligible voter can cast their ballot on Election Day. As Americans prepare to head to the polls for the 2026 Midterm Elections, the NBA is mobilizing attorneys, law students, and legal professionals to support the nonpartisan 866-OUR-VOTE Election Protection Hotline. This initiative is the culmination of the NBA's first major election protection effort under the leadership of President James J. Carter.

The goal is to connect the strength of the Black legal profession with communities that need support. Since then, the NBA has recruited and trained hundreds of legal volunteers to answer voter questions, monitor conditions at the polls, and escalate issues that could prevent eligible voters from casting their ballots.

The NBA is partnering with the National Urban League and the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law to deploy volunteers across the country. These volunteers will serve as legal observers and provide rapid response to problems at polling places throughout the day. The 866-OUR-VOTE hotline is available in multiple languages, including English, Spanish, Asian languages, and Arabic, to assist voters who encounter any issues at the polls.

The NBA's Election Protection Resource Center serves as a centralized hub for trusted voting information, volunteer opportunities, and national election protection activities. Its "Our Impact" page highlights the contributions of NBA members and organizational partners nationwide, with ongoing updates documenting the initiative's growing reach and impact.

The mobilization follows the NBA's 37th Annual Wiley A. Branton Issues Symposium, held October 15-17 in Atlanta under the theme "Vote! Your Life Depends On It!" The symposium brought together attorneys, civil rights leaders, and community advocates to prepare for Election Day and strengthen the NBA's voter education and protection efforts.

Founded in 1925, the National Bar Association is the nation's oldest and largest network of predominantly Black attorneys, judges, law professors, law students, and legal professionals. For more than a century, the Association has advanced civil rights, professional excellence, judicial independence, and equal access to justice throughout the United States and abroad.
