BEIJING, Sept. 21, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Fuzhou, China, A global visual submission campaign, titled "My City, My Home," has launched in Fuzhou, China, as part of the upcoming World Cities Day. The initiative, organized by Xinhua Silk Road, invites participants from around the world to share their perspectives on urban development through photos and short videos. World Cities Day, celebrated annually on October 31, marks the first UN-designated international day dedicated to cities. This year, Fuzhou will host the Global Observance of World Cities Day 2026. The "My City, My Home" campaign aims to enhance the global influence of the day, encourage greater public participation, and promote the concept of sustainable urban development.

Participants are encouraged to capture scenes that showcase the livability and renewal of their cities. A unique submission format requires individuals to form a square frame with their thumbs and index fingers to frame the scenes. This gesture symbolizes houses that shelter people, evokes the outline of early walled cities, and represents a perspective through which to capture the beauty of cities. Submissions should begin with the phrase "This is my city" and include an introduction to the city and the filming location. Participants must explain why the selected scene reflects urban regeneration or livability and share personal stories related to the city. The campaign accepts both 9:16 vertical and 16:9 horizontal format submissions, with each video required to be at least five seconds long.

The campaign seeks to engage a diverse range of participants, including individuals, families, communities, schools, and social organizations. By sharing their stories, participants can contribute to a global conversation on the importance of sustainable urban development and the role of cities in shaping the future. The campaign aims to highlight the efforts and achievements of cities in promoting livability and regeneration, fostering a sense of community and pride among residents. Through this initiative, cities can showcase their unique contributions to the global urban landscape and inspire others to take action towards more sustainable and inclusive urban environments.
