MRF Hosts 15th Annual Denver Gala to Celebrate 30 Years of Progress Against Melanoma

The Melanoma Research Foundation (MRF) is set to host its 15th Annual Denver Gala on September 24 at Asterisk Denver, marking a significant milestone in the organization’s history. This year, the gala will celebrate both the 15th anniversary of the Denver Gala and the 30th anniversary of the MRF, highlighting three decades of progress and innovation in the fight against melanoma.

This year’s event will be emceed by Jacquie Palisi, a fourth-generation Colorado native and Emmy Award-winning television host. Diagnosed with malignant melanoma four times since 2005, Palisi has made it her life’s mission to raise awareness about the importance of early detection, sun safety, and regular skin checks.

“Being back as this year’s emcee for the MRF Denver Gala is a deeply personal honor. My own experiences with melanoma have driven me to dedicate my life to educating others about early detection and prevention,” Palisi said. “This event is not just about celebrating the MRF’s achievements; it’s about coming together to make a difference in the lives of those affected by melanoma.”

The gala will feature a cocktail reception, an elegant seated dinner, inspiring presentations, and a powerful awards ceremony. Attendees will have the opportunity to recognize and celebrate the contributions of IDEAYA Biosciences, which will receive the Corporate Leadership Award for its groundbreaking work in melanoma treatment and research. Additionally, Sapna Patel, MD, will be honored with the Humanitarian Award for her commitment to fighting melanoma through exemplary patient care and scientific leadership.

The event will also pay tribute to Arielle Gold, Enzo Rebora, and Lori Rosemond, RN, for their courage and strength in their melanoma journeys. The funds raised through the gala will support the MRF’s mission to fund groundbreaking research, expand treatment options, strengthen support programs, increase education and awareness, and drive meaningful change in the melanoma community.
