MAMARONECK, N.Y., Sept. 29, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Covilhã-based AI video analytics company DeepNeuronic has been acquired by Motorola Solutions, Inc., marking a significant milestone in the tech industry. Founded in 2021 by Vasco Lopes and Bruno Degardin, who met at Portugal's University of Beira Interior and earned their PhDs there in artificial intelligence and computer vision, DeepNeuronic has developed software that reads live camera feeds and flags incidents as they happen. The technology is currently used by highway operators, airports, manufacturers, and retailers in Portugal and Brazil.

Motorola Solutions will integrate DeepNeuronic's technology into its Avigilon platform, which serves customers in more than 100 countries. The acquisition includes DeepNeuronic's Brazilian subsidiary, and the company's 17-person team will join Motorola Solutions, remaining in Covilhã.

Peter Formanek, Founder and CEO of Young America Capital, LLC (YAC), described the deal as one of the sharper transactions they worked on this year.

Ran Zfoni, Vice President and Head of Israel & Europe Tech at YAC, advised DeepNeuronic's founders through the transaction.

DeepNeuronic's technology will now be part of Motorola Solutions' broader portfolio, enhancing its video security platform. The acquisition underscores Motorola Solutions' commitment to expanding its presence in the AI and video analytics market.
