SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 01, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- More than two-thirds (67.1%) of U.S. companies are using artificial intelligence (AI) in some processes, according to a new survey by Pipefy. While 37% of these companies use AI on a regular basis, the majority still face challenges in fully orchestrating their processes. Only 6.6% of the surveyed companies can run processes that are fully orchestrated end to end.

The survey highlights that 42.6% of respondents still switch between multiple systems and screens to complete a single process. This indicates a significant gap in the seamless integration of AI into business operations.

Human oversight remains central to the orchestration of AI processes. The survey found that 57.4% of respondents see humans as orchestrators and validators, while 34.4% are willing to delegate to AI agents as long as the rules are well defined and auditable. This suggests a cautious approach to AI adoption, with a strong emphasis on maintaining control and accountability.

Regarding the application of AI agents, 41.3% of companies are already using them in internal processes, and another 41.3% plan to use them. This indicates a growing interest in leveraging AI to streamline operations and improve efficiency.

In terms of evaluating AI solutions, ease of adoption by the team leads the buying criteria with 28% of mentions, ahead of operational gains (27%) and clear business benefits and return on investment (ROI) (19%). This finding underscores the importance of a smooth implementation process over immediate financial benefits.

He emphasizes the need for an orchestration layer that can run AI agents within defined boundaries, with audit trails and human validation where necessary.

The survey, which was conducted on 148 companies from Pipefy’s customer base in the United States during the first half of 2026, through a structured questionnaire, provides insights into the current state of AI adoption and orchestration. Founded in 2015, Pipefy operates globally in more than 150 countries, driving innovation for its customers.

These findings suggest that while AI adoption is widespread, the challenge lies in fully integrating and orchestrating these technologies to achieve seamless and efficient operations.
