MongoDB reports 30% year-over-year revenue growth in Q2 fiscal 2027

MongoDB, Inc. reported strong financial results for the second quarter of fiscal 2027, showcasing a 30% year-over-year revenue growth and a significant rise in profitability. The company's total revenue for the quarter reached $771.8 million, with Atlas revenue up approximately 29% and EA & other revenue increasing by about 36% year-over-year.

CJ Desai, MongoDB's President and CEO, expressed satisfaction with the company's performance, stating, "We delivered strong second quarter results, highlighting 30% year-over-year revenue growth—the highest level of growth in several years—and continued strong profitability. This performance reflects the mission-critical role our platform plays for customers."

The growth was particularly driven by core enterprise workloads and early momentum with AI use cases, with the company's "run anywhere" strategy across both Atlas and Enterprise Advanced showcasing the power of its data platform. This strength enabled MongoDB to raise its full-year fiscal 2027 guidance, mainly due to the success of Atlas.

Mike Berry, Chief Financial Officer, added, "Our second quarter results reflect very strong and growing operating leverage in our business. We delivered a non-GAAP operating margin of 24%, up significantly from 15% a year ago, while free cash flow nearly doubled year-over-year to $137.6 million."

The company's financial highlights for the quarter include a total revenue of $771.8 million, a gross profit margin of 74%, and a non-GAAP operating margin of 76%. Net income for the quarter was $40.9 million, or $0.50 per share, up from a net loss of $47.0 million in the year-ago period. MongoDB also reported a 91% year-over-year increase in remaining performance obligations, with current remaining performance obligations up 73% year-over-year.

In recent business highlights, MongoDB Search and Vector Search are now generally available in MongoDB Enterprise Advanced, bringing the retrieval capabilities previously used in the cloud to self-managed, private cloud, and hybrid environments. The company also launched the Atlas Managed MCP Server at .local San Francisco Build Fest, which connects coding agents to live MongoDB Atlas data without requiring additional infrastructure deployment.

At MongoDB.local Bengaluru, the company announced plans to upskill two million Indian builders by 2030, expanding the MongoDB for Academia program in India, which has trained over 650,000 students since 2023.
