Money Metals, Sound Money Defense League, and Sound Money Foundation have released the second edition of the Sound Money Review, a scholarly journal dedicated to advancing principles of sound money. This year’s edition features new research from Sound Money Fellows and includes a 500-year-old monetary treatise by Nicolaus Copernicus.

The journal, which was published on September 14, 2026, aims to provide compelling and relevant research on topics such as interest rate manipulation, the limitations of central planning, and the relationship between sound money and militarism. The contributions from Sound Money Fellows Antón Chamberlin, Ph.D., and Joseph Solis-Mullen include shorter articles and longer studies. Chamberlin explores the impact of monetary policy on housing and family formation, while Solis-Mullen revisits the infamous silver market episode involving the Hunt Brothers from an Austrian perspective.

The Sound Money Review also includes the monetary treatise "On the Minting of Money," originally written by Nicolaus Copernicus in 1526. This treatise, translated from its original Latin and re-released with an introduction by Ralph Benko, delves into the polymath's understanding of inflation and currency debasement as a pestilence for nation states.

Stefan Gleason, president and CEO of Money Metals, emphasized the importance of the journal in providing a resource for individuals and investors to deepen their understanding of sound money.

The Sound Money Defense League, which has been responsible for over 35 sound money legislative victories since 2014, honored Alaska state Rep. Kevin McCabe and Maryland state lawmakers Del. Wayne Hartman and Sen. J.B. Jennings with the Sound Money Legislators of the Year award for their work in enacting sound money legislation in their states in 2026. The league also continues to warn dealers and investors about overreaching bills that impose new regulation and surveillance on the precious metals industry and its customers.

The Sound Money Foundation, which aims to expand the research and discourse surrounding sound money, gold standards, and free-market monetary systems, plays a crucial role in curating and supporting scholarly research. The foundation’s efforts are part of a broader initiative to promote a better monetary system through education and advocacy.
