Money Metals Announces Third Class of Sound Money Fellows

CHARLOTTE, N.C., September 21, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Money Metals and the Sound Money Defense League have announced the third class of the Sound Money Fellowship, an initiative aimed at advancing research in the field of sound money. This fellowship, launched in 2025, has once again attracted strong candidates with compelling research proposals. The fellowship is a collaborative effort between Money Metals, a leading precious metals dealer and depository, and the Sound Money Defense League, a national organization dedicated to promoting sound money policies.

The fellowship is designed to support researchers in their exploration of significant events in monetary or market history, policy analysis, and the cultural and religious impacts on monetary systems. The two fellows selected for this round are Benjamin Seevers and Ááron Sepúlveda-Cué.

Benjamin Seevers, an economics PhD student at West Virginia University, was a 2023 and 2025 summer fellow at the Mises Institute. He holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Grove City College, where he also minored in philosophy. Seevers's research will focus on a biblical defense and understanding of sound money, a topic that aligns with his academic background and interests.

Ááron Sepúlveda-Cué, an economist with a master's degree in economics from Georgia Southern University, was born in Houston, Texas, and has lived in Monterrey, Mexico, before settling in Texas. He currently works as the in-house economist at the Libertarian Christian Institute. Sepúlveda-Cué's research interests include monetary and banking theory and history, Austrian economics, liquidity theory, international trade, and intellectual property.

Stefan Gleason, President of Money Metals, expressed pride in funding research that further advances the understanding of gold and silver as money.

Jp Cortez, Executive Director of the Sound Money Defense League and Editor-in-Chief of the Sound Money Review, highlighted the rigorous research done by the fellows in the second edition of the Sound Money Review.

The Sound Money Defense League and Money Metals Exchange have also launched several educational programs, including the Sound Money Scholarship and the Sound Money Fellowship. These initiatives, along with the Sound Money Review and the Sound Money Index, a national scorecard of sound money policies in all 50 states, have been cited in legislative hearings across the country.

The Sound Money Fellowship is part of a broader effort to promote sound money policies and deepen the understanding of monetary systems. The fellowship aims to produce three short articles and one insightful paper that will be published in the Sound Money Review, a valuable resource for academics, legislators, the sound money movement, and the greater public.
