Mokas Coffee Opens First Franchise Location in Olathe, Kansas

SALINA, Kan., Sept. 22, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Mokas Coffee & Eatery has opened its first franchise location in Olathe, Kansas, marking a significant milestone for the 20-year-old brand. The new café, owned by Christian Coleman, is set to serve as the flagship for future expansion plans across the Kansas City metro area.
Coleman, a seasoned entrepreneur with a diverse background in hospitality and business, has already signed agreements to open five additional Mokas locations in the coming years. The Olathe café, located at 11814 S Fellows St, is the first step in Coleman's vision to bring Mokas's expertly roasted coffee and freshly baked pastries to more communities.
The grand opening of the Olathe café is scheduled for Wednesday, September 30, following a Friends & Family Day celebration on September 27. The official opening will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a partnership with the local Chamber of Commerce. To celebrate, Mokas will offer a $100 social media giveaway and a prize wheel for branded merchandise, tote bags, and gift cards, while supplies last. Additionally, the café will donate 10% of all 16 oz specialty drink sales to KidsTLC, a local nonprofit organization, for the first month of operation.
Christian Coleman, the first Mokas franchisee, expressed his excitement about the new venture.
Mokas Coffee & Eatery, established in 2005 in Salina, Kansas, is known for its high-quality coffee, smoothies, energy drinks, and pastries, as well as its breakfast and lunch offerings. The company currently operates five corporate-owned locations in Salina, Colby, and three in Wichita, with three more under development in Wichita and Hays. The opening of the Olathe café brings the total number of locations to six.
Jason Ingermanson, President of Mokas Coffee & Eatery and CEO of JRI Hospitality, praised Coleman's entrepreneurial spirit and hospitality-driven approach.
The new 3,100-square-foot café is expected to create between 45 and 60 new jobs in the Olathe community. Coleman's family members are also involved in supporting the business. The café will offer a wide range of menu items, including specialty coffee, smoothies, energy drinks, pastries, breakfast burritos, sandwiches, salads, and soups.
