Mistlabs Launches Ambi AI for Real-Time Reasoning and Communication

SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 12, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Mistlabs, a U.S. developer of cross-platform ambient intelligence technologies, has launched a new AI system called Ambi. The system, which is now available on Apple devices, marks a significant step in the development of ambient intelligence, setting the stage for AI-to-AI communication between independent AI devices.

Ambi, developed by Mistlabs CEO Peter Mo, is a groundbreaking ambient intelligence system that operates in real-time. Unlike traditional AI platforms that wait for a prompt to deliver an answer, Ambi builds a contextual understanding of the user across multiple devices. This allows it to identify opportunities to proactively deliver outcomes, making it a live counselor that users can carry with them.

The system's 'Routine' feature is particularly noteworthy. When activated, it can independently analyze and fact-check conversations in real-time, such as during a meeting about competitors. Even before the meeting concludes, Ambi may have cross-referenced competing products and organized a draft proposal for the user's MacBook. This proactive approach extends beyond the meeting, recognizing irregularities and new developments to proactively flag what may require attention.

Ambi's intelligence is designed to carry seamlessly from one device to another, including the iPhone, Apple Watch, Mac, and MacBook. This cross-device intelligence is set to expand into wearable AI devices, further enhancing the user's experience. The company aims to use the new capability of agent-to-agent communication to exchange relevant context and coordinate with other Ambi agents on their users' behalf.

In a meeting, for example, the agents of each user can communicate with one another, identifying where their respective users' priorities align and suggesting outcomes that better account for the needs of both sides. This real-time reasoning and action are intended to happen sometimes before the user even thinks to ask, making the AI system a proactive assistant rather than a reactive one.

Mistlabs has secured US$26 million in Pre-A funding, led by Luminous Ventures and Huaqin Technology. This investment will support the development of Mistlabs' standalone AI wearable, which is set to launch later this year. The wearable is designed to give Ambi's ambient intelligence a richer understanding of the user and the context surrounding them, potentially making its memory, recommendations, and routines more personalized and useful over time.

Ambi is currently available on devices compatible with iOS 18 or Macs. The company emphasizes that Ambi is designed with user privacy in mind, with audio not stored by default. Ambi's future hardware development plans include standalone wearable AI devices, which will set the stage for its intelligence to extend across entirely new device types in the future.
