SEOUL, South Korea, Oct. 22, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Miss A, a Korean-American founded beauty and lifestyle retailer, has secured a strategic investment from VMG Partners, a leading consumer-focused investment firm, valuing the company at nearly KRW 1 trillion. This milestone comes ten years after the company opened its first store in the U.S. in 2016, headquartered in Dallas, Texas.
Founded by Kenneth Baik and Jean A Baik, Miss A began as an online business in 2013, quickly expanding into a physical presence with its first store opening in 2016. Today, the company operates about 100 stores across the U.S., each carrying more than 15,000 products (SKUs), ensuring customers find something new every time they visit. The business model is centered on offering trendy, quality products at affordable prices, making it a favorite among consumers.
This investment from VMG Partners reflects the company's successful growth and its potential for further expansion. With the backing of a firm known for identifying and scaling high-growth consumer and beauty brands, Miss A plans to accelerate its store growth in major metropolitan areas and key retail markets across the U.S. While maintaining its price competitiveness and quality, the company will strengthen its skincare and beauty categories, its own brands, and product development. Miss A will also step up investment in supply chain, logistics, IT systems, and talent.
The company aims to reach 550 stores across the U.S. and achieve $1 billion in annual sales by 2030.
Since its founding, Miss A has grown entirely self-funded, with its first outside investment coming from VMG Partners. The company's expansion into K-beauty with the launch of Seoul Scandal, a K-beauty shop-in-shop, marks its full entry into the Korean beauty market. Seoul Scandal brings together popular K-beauty brands loved by American consumers, and its own Seoul Scandal skincare line is set to launch at the end of the year. As Miss A opens more stores, the company plans to expand Seoul Scandal across the U.S. and deepen partnerships with Korean beauty brands and manufacturers.
