KOBE, Japan, Sept. 09, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Micware Co., Ltd, a Japan-based provider of software development services for the automotive and mobility sectors, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with MulticoreWare, Inc., a global technology company specializing in AI software solutions. The collaboration aims to explore potential synergies in the development and optimization of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and physical AI at the edge.
The agreement, signed by both companies, is centered on enhancing user experience and vehicle safety by advancing the implementation of Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models and large language models (LLMs) on cost- and power-efficient electronic control units (ECUs). Micware, with its extensive experience in automotive software and long-standing relationships with major Japanese OEMs like Honda and Toyota, will leverage its modular in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) platform, micAuto-PF, to integrate with MulticoreWare’s expertise in ADAS and AI.
Micware’s growth strategy involves expanding its capabilities in the ADAS domain while building on its existing strengths in in-vehicle infotainment systems. The company’s in-vehicle software platform, micAuto-PF, supports Android- and Linux-based environments and enables the reuse of software components across multiple projects. By combining Micware’s customer relationships and sales capability with MulticoreWare’s engineering capabilities, the two companies hope to develop cutting-edge solutions for next-generation vehicles.
MulticoreWare, headquartered in San Jose, California, brings to the table its extensive experience in software engineering and optimization for heterogeneous System on a Chip (SoC) platforms. The company’s core technical capabilities, including ADAS integration and optimization, advanced 3D LiDAR sensing, and in-cabin radar and camera sensor fusion, form the technical foundation of the collaboration. By focusing on local AI inference and real-time execution, the partnership aims to address the challenges of running AI solely in the cloud for mission-critical applications.
The MOU, effective from its signing date until June 8, 2027, marks the beginning of discussions on potential collaboration areas. While it does not obligate either party to enter into any agreement, the companies are committed to exploring areas such as ADAS performance optimization, AI-powered in-vehicle user experience, and physical AI at the edge. This collaboration aligns with both companies’ shared vision of edge and high-performance AI as foundational elements for the future of automotive, security, and robotics.
Micware’s President and Chairman, Kenji Narushima, expressed optimism about the partnership, stating, “By combining Micware’s strategic ecosystem, including our recent security alliance, with MulticoreWare’s capability to optimize AI across diverse hardware architectures, we expect to work toward the implementation of large-scale machine learning solutions that address evolving industry needs.”
AGK Karunakaran, President and CEO of MulticoreWare, added, “The next frontier of mobility and robotics depends heavily on highly optimized physical AI. By combining MulticoreWare’s core high-performance software expertise with Micware’s solid experience in the automotive industry, the two companies are positioned to provide superior solutions. Together, we will push the boundaries of ADAS algorithm performance and work toward enabling complex physical AI systems to operate safely and smoothly at the edge.”
The collaboration between Micware and MulticoreWare represents a significant step forward in the development of advanced automotive technologies, aiming to enhance safety, efficiency, and user experience in next-generation vehicles.
