Microvascular Therapeutics Appoints Charles Garrison, MD, to Scientific Advisory Board

Microvascular Therapeutics, a clinical-stage biotechnology company, has appointed Charles Garrison, MD, to its Scientific Advisory Board. Garrison, an experienced pathologist and biotechnology entrepreneur, will provide guidance on scientific and medical development as the company advances its therapeutic programs.

Garrison brings a wealth of expertise to the board. He is certified by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and previously served as the Director of Pathology Services at West Paces Medical Center in Atlanta. He is also a Fellow of both the American Society for Clinical Pathology and the College of American Pathologists.

In addition to his medical career, Garrison has a track record as a serial entrepreneur. He has founded multiple life sciences companies, including Genetics and Laboratory Medicine Inc., The Georgia Tissue Bank, Helical Sciences Laboratory, and Cell Dynamics LLC. Several of these businesses were subsequently acquired by larger healthcare organizations.

Following his retirement from clinical practice, Garrison became an active angel investor, investing in more than 70 startup companies across biotechnology, biopharmaceuticals, and medical devices. He is also a member of Keiretsu Forum Northwest in Vancouver.
