CHAMPIONSGATE, FL, UNITED STATES, October 23, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- John Hughes Golf's lead coach, Michael Brunson, has been named to the prestigious Golf Digest Best Young Teachers list for 2027-2028. This recognition highlights Brunson's innovative and effective approach to teaching the game of golf, aligning with the magazine's criteria for instructors who are bringing the sport into the digital age.

The Best Young Teachers list, published by Golf Digest magazine, includes 197 teachers across the United States. These instructors are recognized for their ability to use swing analysis tools, granular metrics, and online communication platforms to enhance the learning experience for their students. Michael Brunson, who joined John Hughes Golf with over 30 years of professional golfing experience, has been a key figure in the organization's coaching efforts.

In 2026, Brunson became a Class A PGA member, with John Hughes as his supervising professional. He now coaches year-round at the Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate, the primary location for coaching and multi-day golf schools with John Hughes Golf. Brunson's role involves not only coaching but also promoting virtual golf coaching opportunities. Many golfers appreciate the ability to submit swing videos for expert assessment and then have a live virtual session with an experienced coach to learn what changes they can make right away to improve their game.

Brunson is certified on several advanced golf technologies, including FlightScope and Sportsbox 3D. He uses these tools, along with his real-world knowledge and experience with the pressures of competitive play, to help students build their skills as quickly and practically as possible. He shares the teaching philosophy of John Hughes, the President of John Hughes Golf, which prioritizes a tailored approach to each student based on their current abilities. Each golf school and virtual coaching session is designed to provide immediately actionable improvements to help the student move forward quickly.

John Hughes, the President of John Hughes Golf, expressed delight at seeing Brunson identified as an innovative, forward-thinking instructor by Golf Digest. He hopes that the well-deserved recognition will help golfers throughout central Florida and beyond as they look for a golf coach to help them make significant improvements, not only in their ability to play but also in their enjoyment of the game.
