LAS VEGAS, September 1, 2026 — MGM Resorts International and BetMGM have committed a total of $320,000 to support responsible gaming initiatives and expand educational outreach, marking a significant commitment to player protection and public awareness.

The companies are partnering with the American Gaming Association (AGA) to promote Responsible Gaming Education Month (RGEM 2026) throughout September. This collaboration includes a $300,000 donation to the International Center for Responsible Gaming and support for a variety of state problem gambling councils, including funding for the 1-800-GAMBLER helpline. Additionally, a donation will be made to the Evive Foundation, which provides digital tools and peer support for individuals impacted by gambling.

GameSense® messaging, a leading responsible gaming program, will continue to be prominently displayed in professional sports venues. This year, the message will expand to include new venues such as T-Mobile Arena (Vegas Golden Knights) and Michelob ULTRA Arena (Las Vegas Aces). GameSense messages will be featured on LED ribbons and scoreboards during pre-game activities, reinforcing the importance of responsible gambling.

MGM Resorts and BetMGM have also certified more than 3,000 employees as GameSense Advisors, with training now extended to 45 departments across the company. Rhea Loney, Chief Compliance Officer at BetMGM, emphasized, "Player protection is a priority every day at BetMGM, and RGEM gives us an opportunity to highlight those efforts. Through GameSense messaging and comprehensive training, we are helping players access the tools and resources they need to make informed decisions."

MGM Resorts and BetMGM are continuing their efforts to provide comprehensive responsible gaming training to all employees. The companies will also host educational booths at Las Vegas properties and offer lived-experience sessions for employees to better understand the human impact of problem gambling. BetMGM customers will receive targeted emails promoting responsible play and directing them to online tools and resources.

To further support responsible gaming, MGM Resorts and BetMGM are initiating guest and customer surveys on responsible gaming. They will also launch a social media and internal messaging campaign, featuring executive thought leadership, to raise awareness and promote best practices.

Stephen Martino, SVP and Chief Compliance Officer at MGM Resorts International, stated, "What makes reaching 3,000 GameSense Advisors so meaningful is the number of employees who have chosen to take an active role in promoting responsible gaming for our guests. That collective commitment is helping us expand the reach and impact of our program across our company."

Rob Lockwood, SVP Strategic Communications at the AGA, added, "Responsible gaming has the greatest impact when the industry works together like we have with Play Smart from the Start. Our collaboration with MGM Resorts and BetMGM helps keep these important messages visible to players while supporting research and programs that can make a difference."
